My dad, a tourist, is bringing his laptop to USA. will the customs ask him about it?
My dad was givin this laptop by his friend. He doesn't have its invoice or its papers. Will they ask him about it? or no proble, he can bring it

no problem they are very very common now

they shouldn't ask him anything because my dad lives in a foreign country and they didn't ask him anything when he brought his laptop

Should be no problem. I have travelled into and out of the USA with a laptop dozens of times and there were never any questions about it. There are some export restrictions on very high end technology, but they don't apply to ordinary laptops - much less to laptops purchased abroad.

My dad has had no trouble with that before. You could have a laptop for many reasons. To catch up on work, keep iin touch with family, etc.

If they think it's brand new, they may ask you about it. But if it's clearly not brand new, you're fine.
