How much customs value do I need to declare when shipping a defective laptop from the Philippines to the USA?
I was sent a laptop purchased in Chicago as a gift. I live in the Philippines. Just about a month in using it, it wont power on and needs to be sent back to the U.S. to be repaired. I have inquired how much sending it back would cost but I am not sure how much to declare the value of the laptop since it is defective. (It was originally purchased at $600). Any suggestions?

You would be better off trying to get it fixed at your local computer shop. Less hassles and probably at a lesser cost.
