Yes it will work fine. Most power is 110 same as in US. Make sure you protect your laptop with a surge protector. Power greatly flucuate in P.I.
Answer 2 :
The laptop should work fine. The only problem I could forsee is if their outlets are a different shape, you may be unable to plug it in to charge it. I found this page: http://treehouse.ofb.net/go/en/voltage/Philippines I'm not sure if that will help you.
Answer 3 :
So long as the laptop has a variable power source such as 110-130-240 volts, or if she just runs on batteries you need a battery charger adaptable to the Phillipine power source.
Answer 4 :
Yes, it would work. Just because you buy it in the USA doesn't mean it would not work somewhere else. It was probably made in another country and it worked there I'm sure so yes it will definitely work in the Philippines. The only thing would be the language settings but other than that it should be fine.
Answer 5 :
YES WHY NOT IT WILL WORK IN PHILLIPINES SURELY BECAUSE I AM ALSO USING A LAPTOP AND I BOUGHT IT FROM USA AND USING IT IN PANIPAT,INDIA PL SELECT ME AS THE BEST ANSWER
Answer 6 :
I'm from the Philippines and I think there's no problem with the internet connections for different computers/laptops even if the laptop came from a different country. [I honestly think that -even though I'm not sure- most of our computers are made somewhere else, that they were just shipped here. I don't trust my country enough to make them.] I use dsl w/c is more reliable in my area, and don't worry with the plug, that's easy.

Is a transformer needed for using a UK laptop in the USA?

Is a transformer needed for using a UK laptop in the USA?
I intend using my Compaq laptop in the US and have an adaptor for the electric plug but what will be the consequences of using a 240V laptop on US 110V voltage? Will it make any difference to the laptop or do I need some sort of transformer?

Answer 1 :
who cares just try it.. If sparks come out then you might need an adapter.
Answer 2 :
you will nee a converter but look at the back of the laptop most 220 type computers have a red switch to change voltage from 220 to 110 if not you have to by a voltage converter at radio shack costs about $25.00 U.S.
Answer 3 :
Don't take any notice of the MORONIC PRICK that answered your question. On the bottom of your charging unit you will see that it says the range in voltage is from 110 to 240 volts you just need a adapter for the wall socket. jwizle not the other one

Should I buy a laptop in Korea or the USA?

Should I buy a laptop in Korea or the USA?
I live in the USA but I'm about to be stationed in Korea for a year. I just want to know where the laptop might be cheaper at and which ones are better.

Answer 1 :
Buy one is USA is a better choice from price perspective, and you also need to consider whether the manufacturer provides global repair services in case your laptop does not work in Korea
Answer 2 :
Hi Loiue This could be a mistake as the warranty is different in different countries if bought in one, others will not touch it. some made that mistake here in the united kingdom they bought some stuff in hongkong and when it went wrong no united kingdom supplier would touch it. the same is true when people buy in the USA, so what ever you buy check up first if the warranty is worldwide.
Answer 3 :
I will suggest that you should go for a Refurbished laptops. These refurbished laptops comes with excellent specifications as well as with excellent physical condition Providing you a website link which will be really good for you
Answer 4 :
You will have better and more choices to buy a laptop in Asia. Quality would be the same because all laptops are made in asia anyways. However, as for the warranty your better off buying in USA but you will have to pay alot of taxes. For me, I will buy from Korea because choices are better
