| What do I need for my Sony Laptop (from USA) to work in Italy? The voltage in the US is 110V and in Europe its 240V (i think). BTW in europe the standard for most countries is 220, so you do not have to worry about anything getting messed up. They use 2 round pins, not flat ones like we do. Answer 4 : You will need a US to European adapter ....as the plugs are different . Its sometimes also called Universal Adapter/Convertor .... There is no Electronics in it ...its just a connector which has a US socket on one side (where ur US pins go in) and has various diff plugs on the other side ...so that u can choose what to use.
