Tax on laptop purchase in the USA?

Tax on laptop purchase in the USA?
Hi there, I am a Canadian citizen and I am currently planning to visit the US this weekend. I am going to be staying over near Grove City (close to Pittsburgh) and I have a quick question. If I purchase a laptop from best buy/future shop in that area, would I have to pay any tax? (I know I would pay tax when I cross into Canada again, but what about in the store when I purchase the laptop?) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer 1 :
Sales tax rates in the United States are dependent on the area of the purchase. Generally speaking, 7% - 9% is pretty normal. Some states do not have sales tax, however. Oregon is one state which does not have sales tax.
Answer 2 :
This is more a finance question than computer question. You might get a better answer there. I think that you would be required to pay sales tax for the state in which you buy it. Crossing into Canada is something I thought would be covered under NAFTA (The North American Free Trade Agreement) and shouldn't require additional taxes.
