My dad, a tourist, is bringing his laptop to USA. will the customs ask him about it?
My dad was givin this laptop by his friend. He doesn't have its invoice or its papers. Will they ask him about it? or no proble, he can bring it

I have traveled outside the US and have brought my laptop with me a few times. Customs have never given me a problem or asked any questions. Just follow all rules and regulations and he should not have any concerns!

The computer itself is not a problem - lots of people travel with them all the time. Customs now has the right to search the contents of the laptop. They don't search everyone's but they can. If you don't cooperate, they can seize it. Since someone gave it to him, he should make sure he knows everything that is on the disk, and remove any files that he doesn't absolutely need to bring along. carrying an extra laptop while leaving USA?
hi, i just wanna know that, can anyone, who is holding a student visa in USA, carry an extra laptop as a gift with his personal laptop while leaving USA? is there any problem in US immigration for that? actually,something "authorised" assurance will be better for me,so can anyone plz gimme some authorised US immigration link about this topic? thnx

No one cares how many laptops you carry when leaving the US.
Answer 2 :
I cannot give you any "authorized" assurance, because no one cares because there is no regulation. As long as both are removed from your bag for screening, then you should be okay. One word of caution, computers must be removed or placed in special computer bags. Don't try to leave the computer in the original box or you will have trouble going through security..
