Yes, if tell this to custom. Laptop is very common these day. may be you need not to tell this to custom. Good luck...

Presently laptop is a customfree item. Last time when I returned from USA in Nov 06 I saw in the disembarkation card that the passenger is allowed to get one laptop for personal use.
