i bought a sony laptop from USA and it has a lesser hardware than said in the brochure and site?

i bought a sony laptop from USA and it has a lesser hardware than said in the brochure and site?
i bought a sony VGN-FZ290 from USA recently but the hardware is 100 gb lesser than that told on site and brochre. how can i get it mended in my city of dublin in ireland

you will have to call and talk to sony customer service. Sorry that happened to you. If you bought it through a third party company like best buy etc... you need to call them vice Sony.

Tax to send a laptop to india from USA?
I will send a $600 cost laptop to india from USA thru courier or some means 1.Can I or my friend pay WAT for the laptop. 2. How much amount we have to pay? 3. What is the easiest way to send the laptop to my friend? thanks for all replies

not sure what you mean by 'WAT', do you mean 'VAT' or Value Added Tax? If so, that applies only to the EU and not in the US. I don't believe there is a tax applicable if this is a gift and won't be resold in the US. A tax applies if your friend is importing this laptop for resale in the US. You should make sure to get courier insurance however, to cover possible damage during shipping.

dear you can send the laptop without paying any money to Indian tax department if the same is sent along-with a person who is traveling from USA to India. one self laptop is allowed as for personal use. please make sure that the laptop is not packed.

Do not send it through courier. It may be damaged and you will have to pay tax on it. The best way is to send it though some one from USA. One laptop per one person is allowed without payment of any tax. (Irrespective of its cost.). So sent it through your friends.

Studying in Argentina for six months,and plan to buy a laptop. would it be better to buy it in the USA and ship it from the USA to Argentina? OR buy laptop pc in Argentina and bring it back to the USA? What would be the duty tax? ~ Larry

You DEFINITELY want to buy all technology stuff here (apart from a cell phone, where you'll want some kind of plan there. The most popular provider is movistar) Anyway. Prices on goods like those (ipods, laptops) are 200-300% sometimes. My aunt and uncle were constantly picking up those things for their Argentine friends when they came to the US so that their friends wouldn't have to pay those outrageous prices!
